Lungovita features nearly 40 fully furnished geodesic domes and tents on its property with different size options depending on your preferences and needs.
All of the amenities and accommodations are located within 5 minutes of walking distance across the entire retreat.
Here is a list of all the options:
Geodesic Domes:
6M Dome (Sleeps 4): Features two queen beds, an indoor wood-burning fireplace, a lounge area, an outdoor fire pit, and full amenities including heat, electricity, and air conditioning.

This is the one that we stayed in and we loved it!
4M Prime Lakeview Dome (Sleeps 2): Similar to the lakefront domes but with a partially obstructed view of Lake Erie. They are simply behind the lakefront domes.
Forest View Bell Tents (Seasonal, June to September):
Sleeps 2: Includes one double bed, two seating pillows, and an outdoor fire pit. Note that these tents do not have electricity.
Sleeps 4: Comes with two double beds, seating pillows, and an outdoor fire pit, also without electricity.
Amenities At Lungovita Beach Resort
Lungovita Beach Resort offers an array of amenities designed to enhance the guest experience.
All of the amenities are first come first serve so you don’t have to reserve anything (except the Yoga and Thai Massage; see below)
The hours of operation for all the amenities are 9 am-9 pm.
Let’s take a look at some of them:
Beachfront
Guests can enjoy 600 feet of private beachfront on Lake Erie, perfect for relaxation and water activities.
There is a small sandy beach where you can launch the kayaks and paddle boards from or go for a swim.
If you plan on swimming or doing any of the water activities, keep in mind that there is no lifeguard on duty.
Therefore, it is recommended that you wear a life jacket while doing the water sports or if you are not a strong swimmer.
In addition, the shore area is currently being enhanced so there could be construction happening during your visit.
Swimming Pool/Hot Tub/Sauna
The resort features a seasonal in-ground pool and year-round hot tub as well as two cedar barrel saunas which are available for unwinding and detoxification.
We spent a lot of time in the pool and the hot tub and it was a relaxing and enjoyable experience. Tried the sauna as well for about 15 mins and got a good sweat on.
There are change rooms/ showers/ toilets in the building to the right of the pool. Those are in addition to the ones located in the main building.
Do not bring glass bottles or containers around the pool area for safety reasons.
Also, I saw the swimming pool and hot tub being cleaned every morning so they were both immaculate.
Bathroom Amenities
Modern luxury bathrooms provide private showers, a soaking tub, multiple powder rooms and restrooms.
Also, there is a water station in the main building where you can get hot, cold and filtered water.
There are small lockers beside the water station that are free to use but you need to bring your own lock.
I saw the staff constantly cleaning the bathroom amenities, there wasn’t a speck of dirt anywhere.
All of the washrooms, change rooms and showers (in the main building and the pool ones) are open 24/7.
In addition, there are portapotties sprinkled around the property for night use if you do not want to walk to either building.
Outdoor Kitchen/BBQs
For those who enjoy outdoor cooking, the resort has an outdoor kitchen equipped with propane BBQs and limited cooking utensils.
Therefore, guests need to bring their own food, drinks, and additional kitchen items.
We brought some burger patties & buns and cooked them on the BBQ so we had dinner one of the nights. There are 5 BBQs in the area and they are easy to operate and use.
Also, we brought some paper plates, plastic cutlery and tissues.
Don’t forget to clean up the shared cooking utensils and the BBQ grill as well as turn off the propane valves after use.
There are picnic benches beside the outdoor kitchen & BBQs where you can eat your lunch or dinner.
Fire Pits
Both individual and communal fire pits are available for evening bonfires, adding to the cozy, communal atmosphere
During our visit, we made a fire outside our dome both nights and cooked some s’mores.
Keep in mind that you will have to buy some firewood from the staff which costs $10 flat and the amount of wood you will get lasts about 30 to 60 mins.
We made a fire both nights so we used up $20 worth of firewood.
You can request the wood to be delivered to your dome until 9 pm. Also, they accept cash, card or e-transfer.
Quiet hours are from 10 pm to 9 am but you can still have your fire after 10 pm but your party will need to be super quiet.
Relaxing Areas
There are three lakeview hammocks as well as different meditation seating chairs and benches.
Also, there are two swings on the property, one is beside the hammocks and one is on the beach by the water.
Parking
The resort provides complimentary parking as part of its amenities, ensuring that visitors have a convenient and hassle-free experience during their stay.
Also, there is a drop-off area that is closer to the main building to help guests unload their belongings.
There are even small carts/wheelbarrows to help you transport your stuff to your dome.
However, you need to use the drop-off area only for quick stops and park your car in the designated parking area (which is located near the entrance to the property).
*** Keep in mind that there is no fridge, microwave or kettle anywhere on the property. Also, there is a small Beach Volleyball Court but bring your own ball.
Activities At Lungovita Beach Resort
There are tons of activities in Lungovita to help you relax as well as enjoy the beautiful nature of Essex County:
Kayaks/Paddle Boards
At Lungovita Beach Resort, guests can take advantage of the complimentary Solo Pelican Kayaks, Paddle Boards & Life Jackets to explore the scenic waters of Lake Erie.
Remember to return them to their original place after you are done using them.
Unfortunately, we didn’t try those activities as the water in the lake was quite cold but it would be perfect in the summer months.
Biking
Also, you can use the Novelty Cruiser Bikes for free and venture through the surrounding area.
We loved biking, the road is flat and well-maintained and all the nature is so picturesque and beautiful.
There are many wineries in the vicinity as well as large estates with perfectly manicured lawns and views of the lake, it is a great area to bike.
Keep in mind that the bikes don’t have gears but you won’t need them because the area is flat.
There is a 2-hour limit on bike usage in order to ensure fair access. Also, you shouldn’t park the bike by your dome – return it to where it was originally parked.
Weekend Yoga
In addition, there are free morning yoga sessions on Saturdays and Sundays (from 10 am to 11 am) which can help to start the day with mindfulness.
I did one of the yoga sessions and it was a great one, Coco is a fantastic instructor. The yoga is beginner-friendly and not hard to do at all (I am as flexible as a tree trunk and I found it easy).
The resort recommends bringing your own yoga mat and accessories but they do have some yoga mats and blocks in case you forget yours.
I brought my own yoga mat and I didn’t see anyone need one of those stretch blocks. Do bring a water bottle though.
You can book your yoga session online on the Lungovita website before your visit.
The booking is recommended but not mandatory as it is on a first come first serve basis.
Weekend Thai Massage
On-site Thai massage therapy services are available at an additional cost for those seeking extra relaxation.
The price is $89+HST (HST is a 13% tax on everything in Ontario) for 30 mins or $139+HST for 1 hr.
The Thai Massages are available only on the weekends and you will need to book in advance on the Lungovita website.
There is a separate dome that is specifically dedicated to the Thai Massages in one corner of the resort.
The Yoga Instructor, Coco, is also the one doing the Thai Massages.
Visitor Information
Lungovita is open year-round, though some amenities like the pool and kayaks are weather-dependent.
Pets are welcome for a one-time fee of $30, making it a pet-friendly destination. Your dog will have to be on a leash and you will have to scoop the poop of course.
Also, dogs are not allowed in the swimming pool, hot tub or sauna.
We brought our dog with us and he absolutely loved it there!
Lungovita Beach Resort offers day passes for visitors who wish to enjoy the resort’s amenities without staying overnight. The price is $39 +HST valid from 9 am to 9 pm.
Also, keep in mind that to maintain a serene and tranquil environment, Lungovita has a strict no-music policy.
Ensuring that guests can fully immerse themselves in the natural sounds and peaceful atmosphere of the surroundings.
Based on the same logic, the resort does not offer Wi-Fi (not free or paid).
Smoking is only allowed in the designated areas; prohibited inside the domes. You can get charged an additional fee if the dome shows any signs (smell or ash) of smoking inside.
Alcohol is allowed but you cannot appear drunk and cause a ruckus or you and your party will be asked to leave without a refund.
Check-in is at 4 pm and check-out is 11 am. Upon check-out leave the key in your dome with the door unlocked.
If you lose your key there will be a $20 fee charged to your credit card.
When you arrive at Lungovita, you will receive a Welcome Package that outlines all of these details as well.
In addition, gift certificates are available for purchase.

There are several notable wineries nearby, offering wine tasting and shopping opportunities.
Before visiting the wineries, double-check their operating hours because they have only certain times when wine tasting is available and when the kitchen is open.
The best time to visit is usually mid-day, but again take a look at the times before you go.
We tried three wineries during our stay, and I will share our experiences with you.
Viewpointe Estate Winery
Viewpointe Estate Winery is located a 3 min drive or 15 min walk from Lungovita.
This is the closest winery, you can practically see it from the resort.
It offers stunning views of Lake Erie and provides a delightful experience with its lakeside patio, casual dining, and regular live music events.
It’s a perfect spot for a leisurely afternoon of wine tasting and relaxation.
We visited Viewpointe Estate Winery and did the wine tasting. In my opinion, this winery had the best views but my least favourite wine options from the three we tried.
They do offer food as well but we didn’t try any as we arrived too late in the day.
Also, this is a pet-friendly winery.
Oxley Estate Winery
Situated a short drive from the resort, Oxley Estate Winery offers a picturesque setting on Lake Erie.

With a strong emphasis on community and local culture, Paglione Estate Winery offers a delightful and memorable experience for wine enthusiasts and casual visitors alike.
We visited Paglione and I have to say that it was by far my favourite winery that we tried. The food and wines were both outstanding and loved the entire vibe of the place.
In terms of food, we ordered the Bruschetta and a Stallone Pizza sooo soo good!
One of the folks actually producing the wines came to us and told us a whole bunch of interesting info about winemaking and the wines we were tasting.
Also, this is a pet-friendly winery.
If you have a chance to go to only one winery on your trip, make sure it is Paglione.
Cooper’s Hawk Vineyards
Cooper’s Hawk Vineyards offers a comprehensive wine experience, featuring a tasting room where guests can sample a variety of award-winning wines crafted from estate-grown grapes.
This winery is known for its exceptional reds, such as Cabernet Franc and Merlot, as well as whites like Riesling and Chardonnay.

The scenic property includes beautiful vineyards, a relaxing patio, and opportunities for guests to enjoy wildlife and breathtaking sunsets.
Cooper’s Hawk Vineyards is committed to providing a welcoming atmosphere, making it an ideal spot for wine enthusiasts, casual visitors, and special events like weddings.
We visited Cooper’s Hawk Vineyards and the wines and the grounds were both exceptional. We didn’t have a chance to try the food but it looked yummy.
Also, this is a pet-friendly winery.
