What Is So Special About Key West?

Key West is known for its laid-back vibe, stunning beaches, and thriving nightlife.

Whether you’re looking for a romantic getaway or a fun-filled family vacation, Key West has something for everyone.

Key West’s unique culture is a mix of Caribbean, Cuban, and American influences.

The city is famous for its iconic sunsets, breathtaking views, and lush tropical gardens.

Where Is Key West Located?

Key West is a small island city located in the Florida Keys archipelago, off the southern tip of Florida.

It’s the southernmost city in the continental United States and it’s only 90 miles from Cuba.

What Is The Best Time To Visit Key West?

The optimal time to go to Key West is between the end of November and April.

However, from November to the end of February it will be the high season because most people will want to escape the winter.

This means there will be a lot of tourists and the hotels will be more expensive.

Around March and April, the crowds are gone, prices are lower and the weather is lovely. This makes it the perfect time to explore the city and enjoy all the attractions.

We visited at the beginning of March and it was lovely and the weather was hot.

The summer is scorching and it tends to rain frequently.

Avoid going in the fall (end of August, Sept, Oct, and the beg of Nov) because then it’s the hurricane season.

What is the Conch Train in Key West?

There is a small train called the Conch Train, that connects all of the main attractions.

However, we decided to walk around but it was a lot of walking, and the heat wasn’t helping.

We weren’t able to hail a taxi as they were all taken but we did use Uber.

I didn’t see any public buses anywhere but we did see a lot of people biking.
