Outside, take some time to wander Capitol Square, a beautifully landscaped 12-acre park featuring walking paths, monuments, and fountains.
Keep in mind that you have to enter through the Visitors Center, which is on the street level; you can’t enter through the main doors.

Virginia Executive Mansion – It is located right beside the Capitol building. This is the oldest continuously occupied governor’s residence in the United States. It is open on certain dates and times, but the availability is pretty limited.
