We went once to Samana and once to Punta Cana, and I can say that I felt safe throughout my travels.

While there were occasional encounters with locals who approached us for money or tried to sell us items, I never felt unsafe or threatened.

Have not encountered any significant health issues, mostly sunburn, mosquito bites, stomach pain, or traveler’s diarrhea.

Overall, my experiences in the Dominican Republic have been positive, and I have not encountered any major safety issues.
